Windsor Jesters "Purpled Heart of Danny Bissell" Staged Reading Tonight and Saturday
As part of the 375th anniversary of the Town of Windsor, the Jesters will do a staged reading of the "Purpled Heart of Danny Bissell" on Thursday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 5th at 2:00 PM at the Windsor Art Center, 40 Mechanic Street. Suggested donation is $5.00.

The play, written by Windsor's own Warren Giffin, tells the story of Danny Bissell, 1754-1824, a Windsor resident who was asked by General Washington to go behind enemy lines and spy for the Revolutionary troops. Word got back to Windsor, and not knowing the whole story, his town and family accused him of being a traitor. When he was honored by the general with one of the first Purple Hearts, everything was straightened out.

For additional information about the performance, go to windsorartcenter.org or call 688-2528.
