April 26th Four Centuries House Tour Nets $9,100
| | | Windsor Historical Society's "Four Centuries of Preservation" house tour which took place April 26th has netted $9,130 for the Society's educational programming for school children and adults. The Society's Executive Director Christine Ermenc noted, "We are grateful to so many people for their commitment to the Windsor Historical Society. A hardworking group of fifteen committee members organized the tour. Holly Pelton designed the logo, the tickets, and the advertising posters. Ashley's Jewelers, The Beanery Bistro, Bill Selig Jewelers, and the Water Closet Bath and Books helped sell tickets. Community businesses placed ads in the program book which was designed and produced by Konica-Minolta's Bizhub Image Center at no charge. Eight homeowners readied their homes for visitors to view and over 140 volunteers guided visitors through the homes. The Windsor Jesters welcomed visitors as early homeowners. Rainbow Bus Lines provided a shuttle bus for the day and Jordan Florist and Gifts provided balloons to clearly mark each home on the tour. And finally, over 350 people supported the Society's work by buying tickets. It is a truly amazing thing when a community pulls together like this to support its historical society."
